Novým ostravsko-opavským biskupem je absolvent UP Martin David

Martina Davida, který studoval na teologii na CMTF, jmenoval papež František sídelním biskupem ostravsko-opavské diecéze, teprve druhým v její historii. Již předtím Martin David působil jako generální vikář, později jako pomocný biskup a od roku 2020 jako apoštolský administrátor, když zdravotní problémy znemožnily vedení diecéze dosavadnímu biskupovi Františku Václavu Lobkowiczovi.
