Douglas L. Biggs, prorektor pro mezinárodní záležitosti University of Nebraska – Kearney, obdržel pamětní medaili Univerzity Palackého. Medaili s dvojportrétem Františka Palackého a Josefa Dobrovského mu za dlouhodobý rozvoj vzájemných vztahů mezi oběma univerzitami předal ve své pracovně rektor UP Martin Procházka.
